Skiing can be a lot of hard work sometimes so it is important to have a great place to stay and recover. Our ski expert Pierre Lelounge checked out different accommodations throughout the area and found the best chalets, hotels and apartments for you! He did not only look out for the best bed, but also looked at the distance from the ski lifts, the location and the extra amenities provided - like a spa or gourmet meals!

Luxury Chalets

1. Chalet Cragganmore

This large ski chalet in Les Praz was voted ´the coolest chalet on the slopes´ in 2012 by The Times and it´s easy to see why. Built following eco friendly principles, it not only accommodates 12 people in absolute style but offers them panoramic views of the Mont Blanc, an outdoor jacuzzi, and a pampering indoor spa with sauna, massage room, and gym.

Top tip: Ideal for skiers and non-skiers alike thanks to its proximity to a golf course and the villages of Chamonix and Argentière.

2. Chalet Drosera

Located right next to the ski lifts and with room for up to 14 people, Chalet Drosera is the perfect accommodation for a large group of die-hard skiers. It even features an indoor swimming pool and a steam room to relief sore muscles after a day on the slopes! It is fully catered - including 6 gourmet dinners - and serviced by professional staff so guests only have to worry about skiing.

Top tip: Ski passes and ski equipment as well as sports and leisure activities can be arranged by the staff on advanced request.

3. White Snow Apartment

If you are not so keen about skiing or love après-ski as much as the slopes, this ski apartment in the heart of Chamonix may be ideal for you. Modern yet with an undeniable Alpine charm, it can sleep up to 10 guests and boasts stunning views of the famous Mont Blanc.

Luxury Hotels

1. Les Granges D´en Haut

Set in the heart of the ski area, this chic hotel is a real treasure in the French Alps - and the views of the valley of Chamonix and the Mont Blanc are spectacular! If that weren´t enough, it also boasts a deluxe spa and gourmet cuisine to die for.

Top tip: Chamonix is just a 10 minute drive away but if the sun is shining, grab your camera, lace your shoes and enjoy a pleasant walk amid gorgeous scenery no matter what time of the year!

2. Auberge du Bois Prin

This luxurious alpine hotel is situated only 300 metres from the Le Brévent Ski Lift and is also very close to the city centre! From the large balconies you can enjoy wonderful views of the Mont Blanc and the spa area provides a sauna, a Jacuzzi and a variety of wellness and beauty treatments!

3. Hotel Mont Blanc Chamonix

Top tip: If you are looking for a quiet après-ski drink you don´t need to walk far, the hotel bar offers great drinks and the kind of warm atmosphere that will make you ask for another shot.

1. Hotel Le Prieuré

This beautiful hotel is only a three minute walk away from the Aiguille du Midi gondola making it perfect for both skiers and non-skiers. The exclusive restaurant will pamper you every morning with a huge breakfast buffet and in the evening with a variety of tasty menus.

Top tip: The hotel offers ski rentals so there is no need for you to pack heavily!

2. Hotel de L’Arve

From the hotel to the centre of Chamonix there is only a mere 100m walk and the shuttle bus to the ski lifts departs right from the doorstep. The hotel has its own spa and fitness area, where you can give wall climbing a try!

Top Tip: Not all of the rooms provide a balcony so if you want to enjoy mesmerising views, make sure to book a room with one!

The super saving tip

1. La Chaumiére Mountain Lodge

This charming alpine hotel offers some of the most friendly rates in the Chamonix ski area and is perfect for relax breaks or active holidays thanks to its secluded location yet proximity to the wonderful Lac des Gaillands and its challenging rock climbing crags.

Top tip: The hotel is a nice 10 minute walk away from the centre but the bus stop and the train station are only 50 metres away!
